Default The factory radio finally gave up......

I said when the CD gave up I was going to install an ITX box.

The time has finally come!

Mind you, this not just for music/movies, but also for tuning. I am also going to put in a fairly decent graphics card for gaming on the go. Because Starcraft. Specs I'm considering:

ASUS MAXIMUS VI IMPACT

2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance

i7-4771 cpu

360GB Corsair SSD

450W PSU (maybe, depends on power inverter)

Video Card yet undecided.

Just looking for some input on cooling and mounting. I'd like for this to fit in the dash where the stock radio is. Has anyone else done this? Also, need a touchscreen monitor, so looking for input there too.

For sound, I've got all new speaker for every corner and will installing a recessed sub. I'll be buying a 5th rim and installing the sub under the spare to use the rim as the grill. Don't need anything crazy, just good thump to compliment the rest of the setup. Also looking for input there. My first audio build in well more than a decade, so getting as much input and shopping as I can before I start collecting bits. Thx guys!

Have an external hard drive that you use to clone or mirror the hard drive from your carputer every once in a while. Cars have horrible nasty power supplies.

The plan is to just create an image so if I do have to reformat or what have you, it's a simple process with everything intact. Plus being an SSD and that the computer will sleep between routes rather than have to wait through the boot process, I'll likely have to replace the drive often enough that wont even matter.
