For games but that is rare. I think the last time I listen to a game on am I was cleaning a car and listening. Any game that matter (finals, superbowls, ect) are played on fm.

Our NHL team games (GO SENS!) are broadcast on AM radio (no FM). I listen to it once in a while, usually while driving. Our city also has some good news radio stations on AM stations that I listen to once in a while.

Something like 10% of the country listens to conservative talk on AM. Also, driving in the middle of nowhere, sometimes it's country or mexican music on AM or nothing at all to listen to over the air, because FM only carries so far.

Who listens to standard radio anymore? I haven't heard a decent station in my area in years.

It's either BPM or Octane on XM, or my car is off.

Actually, there are a couple of good AM stations here. One does all kinds of diverse interviews, plus TED talk coverage. The other has the most delicious sounding newsreaders and that makes listening to boring sh*t worthwhile.

I listen to AM about half the time. CBS news radio out of Chicago. Good for weather and the latest propaganda. it's interesting to see the spin from the national vs local newscast. Usually quite different.

There are a couple good FM but the range is limited to 50 miles or so. And sometimes it is local sports broadcast I could care less about. When I get desperate I plug in the phone for music.
