Hey Everyone

I purchased some custom diamond plated floor mats recently and they look great! I wanted to know if anyone has made their own custom diamond plated mats or sills? I want to replace the door sills with diamond plating and also my trunk space cover. Is this hard to do and expensive at all? Could I just pick this stuff up at home depot or do I have to special order it somehow?

Also for making custom mesh grills I always see that stuff on ebay. Could this material also be picked up at home depot? Has anyone had experience in installing a custom mesh grill on a stock body?

Thanks

You can buy it at Lowes. The door sills are simple with no bends so it would be cheaper to do it yourself. As for the mesh grills, go to Lowes and buy "Gutter Guard", it is about $2.50 for a 3' section.

you can also buy this concrete mesh stuff... comes in a roll about 3' x 10' I think... somewhere around there. It's pretty thick and durable. I meshed my entire front end (scoops and all), my sides and rear, and two of my friends cars. It's pretty good stuff, not sure how expensive it is but I don't think it's bad. If you have a friend, go in together. It resembles the APC mesh. I got an $8 pair of tin/metal snips and it cut it real easily.

As for diamond plate... I wasn't aware it was available at Lowe's, but then again, I don't exactly go there very often. Any clue on a price range for it? I'm really curious on it because I know someone who can cut it for me.

I actually have not seen it there, but asked a freind and he said it was. I think a 4' square is about $60. So that would be enough for about four door sills, or two floor mats. Tell you what, I am going to go tomorrow and get the facts.

Does really good work. Here is Neo_Tib's Tib, best pic I got, right now.

You can have it say whatever you want.
I've got a set too. I got him to make my metal sill a little longer, but it basically looks like that, says "Tiburon" on there.
But you can have whatever you want.
If I get enough interest, I'm sure he will start making them again.
So speak up!

how much would it cost to be a little longer and say " majikTib " on it? is it durable? thick? can it be curved edges and not so squared off, kinda like the black piece under the metal in the pic? like a replacement piece?

damn, that is sweet. how much did those particular ones cost?

Ehhh, I've got them in my car and they get HOT in the summer. As for looks, they are ok, but teh ones I got were pretty scratched up and rough on the edges. I've got the trunk mat too but unfortuantely it's almost impossible to get to your spare if you need to with it in. The sills look too much like crap unless you get them WELL finished on the edges, I think I threw my sills away.
