well heres what i got

pioneer 6800mp HU
pioneer 300w 6x9's
pioneer 230w 6 1/2

alright, well far as i can tell, which is pretty obvious lol is that we got a pair of 6x9's right behind you and then the 6 1/2's way by your feet, now is there a way to make the sound sound like its comming from all around you? cause the 6x9's really overpower the smaller speakers, obviously

currently i have the deck faded to like 9 or 10 to the front and that cuts out alot of volume from the back

If the rear is overpowering your fronts, bring your highs to the forground with a couple small tweeters mounted into your sidemirror plates. We have Boston Accutics in the Corolla nice and small, you can hear the bass in the trunk, sound from underneath and hear the words right there close to you without having all the music noise in your face. Just an idea as to what we did. SOunds nice and all simple. Of course the back seat can't hear the words.

read your pioneer manual! wink1.gif Mine did the same thing and there are lots of different things you can do to equal out the sound. And make it sound even better.

i would just add tweeters to the front and then fade the music slightly to the front from your deck. probably the easiest and least expensive way.

Vladimer Feb 19, 2007 09:06 AM

alright, now would the tweeters have to be amplified? cause everything else is, i dont want to buy them and end up having them just as decorations since i cant actually hear them

optimoprime Feb 19, 2007 09:59 AM

my tweeters are not amped and they scream over my 15" they do have their own crossovers though. i just spliced them right into my front left/right wires.

You don't have to amp the tweeters, just run them off the speaker leads coming from your front speakers. You could just simply turn on your Front Image Enhancer on the pioneer.

alright... i have everything hooked into rca's and running to the amps, and the regular wires on the HU arnt being used, if i hooked up the tweeters to the front left/right wires, will the HU play sound to the tweeters and the front L/R rca wires?

or will it pick the rca's over the wires if you get what i mean =/

Vladimer Feb 23, 2007 04:01 PM

bump, anyone know?

what i mean is since the HU has 2 outs for front, (the rca's) and the wires, if i have my speakers running on the front rca's, and tweeters running off the front wires, will they both play? or will the HU only send audio to one of the outs

optimoprime Feb 23, 2007 11:35 PM

then you need to tap the leads directly off the speaker wire before they go to the door. even if u use the RCA outputs you still have to have the leads going from the amp to the speaker. if u have a crossover box for your tweeters then it should block any unwanted sounds.
