Bandpass Box Question

What's the advantages & disadvantages of having a 4th order bandpass for a single 12"? Thanks.

Cons - kind of heavy in weight, sound is a bit muddy and not very clear.

Pros - Lots of bass, and very boomy if you only want tons of sound.
