Analog or Digital Gauges
For pillar or dash gauges, do you guys prefer analog or digital? Is one more precise or better than the other?
|
Analog. By a lot. It's not even close. Except for voltage, in which case digital is nice. Accuracy is going to be close enough for either kind, even with low-budget gauges.
|
I would say the opposite and go digital all the way. It's easier and quicker to see. Plus, as long as your sensor is good and calibrated correctly to the gauge, it should be just as accurate as an analog gauge. Plus, YOU are not left interpreting hash marks on the gauge, deciding is it in-between this or that and closer to one or the other. If the ECU can run your engine off digital, I'd say your good with digital.

I'm with the digital side too. Way more accurate and precise.

As someone who has done calibration on digital and analog systems, let me assure you: they may be more precise, but assuming digital gauges are any more accurate is not a good thing to do!
