Are all amp install kits made the same?

Want to upgrade my wiring from 8 gauge to 4 gauge and been looking around. Monster, streetwires, and a few others all range from $40 to $100. They all include the same components (power, ground, fuse block, remote wire, etc). So will a $40 kit be just as good as the $100?

A $40 kit from a high quality no-name maker could be BETTER than a $100 kit from an over-rated brand name. Do your shopping carefully. Bear in mind that a lot of the cost is in the copper which is a lot more expensive than it used to be and not everything billed as 4AWG really is.

the less money you spend, the more likely you're going to damage something.
do not buy ebay china brand amp kits with poor wiring that says it is 8ga/4ga. this is NOT the thickness of the copper inside the insulated jacket.
use real amp kits such as Rockford Fosgate, T-Spec, Metra/Tsunami, Memphis, and so forth.
retail amp kits can be anywhere from $80 and up but you can find those same amp kits on ebay brand new, just make sure they are still sealed in original packaging that someone isn't trying to scam you!

Highly recommend you use knukonceptz wiring. Their stuff is the best...and cheaper than monster and other crap. Audio files everywhere rave them. I use their big 0 gauge kit without any problems on a 1500 watt RMS amp. Had it for 5 years now
