Turbosocks FMIC kit going into production this month!

Just wanted to copy this over here, even though I am the only turbo V I think :P

Here is the final setup. the FMIC now sits level. I am going to look at making some type of ducting for even more cooling efficiency to cool the bottom half of the intercooler more directly. Based on the testing results right now it is working plenty fine, I would just like to get every ounce of efficiency out of it as possible.

It is kind of hard with this car and a front mount to get all the air to the cooler since there is only 5" from the bottom of the crash bar to the opening on the grille.

I sent off the design to the manufacturer today and should be able to get kits rolling out quite soon.

I am going to start a Group Buy thread tomorrow sometime.

Final pricing on the kit is going to be 570$ shipped anywhere in the continental USA.

Group Buy pricing will be 520$ shipped anywhere in the USA. Will need 5-10 people for the Group Buy.

Local guys will get the real benefit though as the price will be 530$ all the time including delivery and depending on how busy I am, FREE install. The price is only cheaper as I wont have to ship it to them.

The brackets I designed actually work out quite great and hold the cooler very stable to the crash bar. I also pushed the cooler a bit closer to the driver side, still obviously can't be centered as you can see from the couplers.

EDIT: Prices lowered for Production kits!!

Add a plastic or rubber scoop to the underside of the core. Use the two bosses to bolt it on. Look under any 4th gen Camaro for an idea of what I'm talking about. Could do metal, but speedbumps would be an issue.

Looks awesome and nice work! You know you can count on turbosocks to keep it honest, make the best setup possible, deliver the kit at an affordable cost, AND take the time to help you anytime of need. If I had a Veloster I would surely pick this up.

Looks good! Is it covered by a skid plate?

I am currently looking at the best way to add something like i8acobra mentioned. As soon as I saw how much of the lower part of the core wasn't going to get direct airflow, I started working on an idea to force air down to that area.

The scoop idea seems like it would work but would make it a bit lower than most people would like. I am looking to make a piece of 'duct' right now that bolts to the bottom bosses but goes from there to the bottom of the grille opening.

There is no skid plate that covers the bottom of the cooler. There used to be a plastic 'skid' but it needed to be removed because of the intercooler.. However, the intercooler is still not the lowest point on the car and should have no worries of ever scraping it.

looks nice!!! the price is awesome t..... wait does your vturbo have whiskers!?!?!?!?!

If you get a chance to look under a '94-'01 Camaro or Firebird, you'll see exactly what I mean. If you see on in a parking lot, just glance below the front bumper. I know the scoop works because when those get deformed or torn off by a parking curb, the car will overheat in Summer with the A/C on.

i tried looking up pictures on the web of it. I will look again..

The only thing is that I don't know if there is a way to get the air from under, directed to the cooler the way it fits in there.
