Default Lightweight Battery Options

Looking for advice or recommendations for a lightweight battery for my V. How do the Optima red and yellow tops compare to a standard die hard or factory battery in terms of weight? Are they usually lighter, heavier or about the same?

Same weight.

You want a Lithium battery. Only caveat is that they usually have fairly low amperage ratings.

I was cheap and bought a used Civic battery for $15. Weighs 17lbs, stock was 39.5lbs.

I have an oddessy battery ( 200mjt sticks out in my head as the model #) . It,s a dry cell battery so it can be mounted in most positions. It weighs about 15lbs. I had one issue where i had to use a 12v lawnmower battery for a month-...the lawn mower battery was on paper a better battery (cca) and weighed about the same. It was a wet cell battery and loads cheaper ($30 vs $175 i think). Hope this helps!

It's the Odyssey PC680. There's a few threads on it and is what most Mitsu owners have used for a decade. Nowadays however there are alternative knockoffs that have proven their performance.

That's the one! Don't expect to blast music for hours while your car is off though!

I've seen a couple "ballistic" brand battery's for motorcycles that were featherlight.. like 2 lbs vs. 14 lbs, I don't think they make them for cars but they got one on their website with 400 cca

Seen those too. You definitely have to build a strong and sturdy holder though because it would flop around. Best thing would be to build a box out of sheet metal and put the batter inside of it.
