The new Ford Focus has blind-spot mirrors from the factory. Several new cars have radar monitoring of blind spots. The new Nissans have 360 degree view cameras. Personally, I think Ford has the best solution.

I really like Fords solution with the integrated blind spot mirrors. Looks well done and works great.



The V has a ton of blind spots and I got those silly, crappy aftermarket ones that cracked and faded and clouded after a couple months. FAIL!

Convex mirrors are disallowed by the DOT. The reason for this is that people fail at judging distances with a convex mirror. Most new cars have mirrors where the outboard ~third of the mirror is convex. Works a treat.







There's a wack new mirror technology out that allows for a flat mirror surface, but increased field of view.

Not true. As I said, the Focus comes with convex blind spot mirrors. Also, most cars have convex passenger's side mirrors... hence the "objects are closer..." warning.
