I’m thinking to install a Xenon Kit to my 1997 Tiburon.

Questions:

1. I don’t know the type of the bulbs my car have. Can anyone help ?

2. The xenon kit is it for both Hi/Low beams or only for low and I need another one for the Hi ones ?

3. Is there any possibility my lights could have problems from the heat of the bulbs ?

4. I’m thinking for a 12000K (I like that purple color) what is you opinion ?

5. Is it hard to install them ?

1. Pop up your hood and look at the headlight, on the grey plastic there should be written bulbs that are used.
It may be 9006 (for US spec) or H1 (for Korean spec), I don't know about Euro spec, so check it.

2. Yes it's only for low beam. If you want you can use another xenon kit for High beam. But do you really need high beam with xenon? Do you use it so often?

3. Probably no, xenon bulbs should produce less heat.

4. I preffer more white or blue

5. You need to change bulbs, install somewhere near ballast (those blocks that comes in the kit to turn the bulbs on) and connect the wiring. Should not be difficult. BTW. do not touch bulbs glass by your fingers, do not turn on ballast blocks without bulbs connected to block.

Is there a difference between what color temperature kit is? 12000K, 8000K or 6000K? Is it only color or light intesity is different too? Which are brighter/better?

I found this on e-bay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/12000K-McCu...036653063QQrdZ1

Please note: most customers have a common misconception that the higher the K (Kelvin temperature) the brighter it gets, but in fact, it is the opposite. The K rating is inversely proportional to the light output, therefore the lower the K the brighter the light output

Braker I recently bought one halo kit from uneek, for the colour that you want go for 10000K. I have the same and it produce purple colour, not blue. Plus if you go for 12000K you will have less brightness.

OK I'll go for the 10000K one. Is there a big difference from the halogen lights to the xenon 10000K you have ? do you have any photos ? before and after ?

Sorry no photos from before, I will try and take some now. Brightness is at least 5x better and double's distance illumination (I don't know if I put it correct smile.gif ).
