Some people here dont care for doing NA modifications on a car because the gains are minimal. You'll see alot of people tell you to just get nitrous or turbo the car and call it quits. But if you're not looking to go all out, then the NA mods will be ok for now.

I would start looking through these vendors to see what you like:

Yea, I was na before Boost, I was N/A with just about every bolt on available pulleys, plugs, wires, header throttle body spacer, bigger throttle body, full exhaust, then i got beat by a Honda Odyssey ( Huge van with VTEEEKKK) lol, Then i went with a wet zex kit, was alot better, then now i hated paying for nitrous, and went turbo and here i am boosting and happy as can be!!!!

It's the $ to hp ratio of N/A mods that suck for us. I did I/H/E, phenolic spacer, BBTB, and ported and gasket matched IM and made 100whp in my Accent. That's about 116hp at the flywheel or a gain of 12hp. I don't even want to talk about the cost and trouble for those 12hp. I will just say it could have been a turbo setup doubling my power for about the same price.

Ya and lets not even mention the fiasco you had to go thru for those headers. How many months did you wait for them 9? And in the end they didnt even fit properly and you had to have the coupler to the flex tube machined and welded to fit, which ended up costing more then the headers themselves. I know, I was there lol.

Yeah, making parts work is often more expensive than buying them in the first place. Ugh. I have learned a lot now though at least. I can do things I wouldn't have been able to if parts just fit like they were supposed to.

Also made the mistake of buying all the N/A parts available for a low power increase. Wish i had turboed it from the start. But even still, this is where i would/have bought my N/A parts from.

Header: (Best quality you'll find imo...do not buy any ebay headers, extremely loud and buzzy)

Cams: (without paying over 1k, this is your only option)
http://kfxperformance.com/ixxocart/product...s-2292-261.html

Intake: (Authentic AEM, best cai choice imo)
http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=ae...mp;_trksid=m270

Exhaust: is tough to come buy, sometimes you'll see it on ebay, or you'll really have to search for it. The only real "production" exhaust still around made for the rd's is by Motoria, that is the one you will most likely find on ebay It almost been proven that having a muffler shop make a custom one is much cheaper and you can route it how you wish and get the sound your looking for

Lightweight Pulleys: (run these currently and love them) Edit* just saw they said out of stock, shoot them an email if your really intrested tho

The best part about all of these suppliers^^ is that they are located in the USA. Shark Racing, Kspec, SFR etc.. are all out of Korea which shipping overseas can be costly and they can also very easily "lose" your package. Happened to many members

Yeah I can weld now. I'm no pro at it, but I do decently.

I agree with the links from SR Tech.

If I wasn't looking to output the money for a turbo setup I would have preferred to do nitrous. VERY cost effective.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Doing nitrous and turbo is all well and good, but I'm really not looking to make a ton of power here, just zip it up a little. I prefer NA just for the reliability, since it's my daily driver, and since I tend to drive a lot of twisty back roads, where a ton of power isn't as important. I'm loving the DOHC engine, though; it reminds me a lot of the M42 I had in my BMW 318i. I still miss that car...
