Default What are the views, unbiased, of the AEM Tiburon CAI

All,

Has anyone had any experience with the CAI from Advanced Engine Management (a.k.a. AEM)? I know everyone I know who has a j-body runs AEM intakes and LOVE them. I have seen what AEM can do and have seriously been considering the AEM CAI as I am still waiting for the SR one. wink.gif Any experience with this product? Luck? Hatred?

Thanks,
Jeremy

I don't know if the product is actually on the market yet. I have yet to hear of anyone who has one.

I do know that their product will be represented in the CAI Dyno Showdown that Rob of HP.COM is doing (I'm going along to help).

The Dyno showdown is going to happen sometime in Feburary I think, so you might want to wait till then before buying.

Well since this is a Shark Racing Forum, of course we will be biased and say that its not as good as the shark racing one will be, and pooh on anyone who buys it over SR's!

Not to take anysides, but AEM does makes some pretty decent CAI's. My friends Acura Type R has one. Plus, anyones intake is better than Weapon R's!! I emailed them a few months ago about their intake, and they said that there tiburon intake was designed FOR THE TIBURON, unlike weapons R. I would say wait a month until Rob and the gang do the tests.

Just so everyone knows I talked to aem about three days ago to find out about the intake. They do not have a release date for it yet. The good news is that they are planning on doing a lot more than just the intake for our cars. I talked to a tech about it and he said that the intake will be coming out with a fuel rail a pressure regulator and pullies and the other "normal things" they come out with for all cars. I think this is a big step up. We finally have a large name coming in and making stuff for hyundais. Before anyone blasts me for saying this remember I do support shark racing and kore but I am glad to see the interest has come around for some of the other companies.

I think it's great someone else is making stuff for our cars. It will give us recognition as Korean car enthusiasts, hopefully making more classes for us at shows. Plus, everyone knows SR products are better than anyone elses anyway!!
