an RD2 over an RD1 or vice versa.
Or an RD series over a GK series?
I would have gotten an RD1 when I bought mine, but the dealer didnt have any. So I bought brand new and got my 2K.
As for the GK's, I personally think they're uglier than sin (too boxy...no sexy curves) and the V6's are slower than a snail for whats under the hood.

I was actually lined up to buy a 98 Civic, but the credit report came back saying that it was too old of a car (in 2003) for me to finance (my credit wasn't great back then). So the dealer suggested I try another car. He walks me over to the Tiburon (RD2), I turned around to tell him I wasn't interested, but before I could speak he tossed me the keys and says "Have it back by 6" (it was like 11am). So, I figured yeah, lets go have a thrash in this thing. Within one hour I knew I was going to buy it and the next day it was mine.
knowing what i know now... i would still buy an 97-01 tib.... swap in a beta 2 engine, trans, and ECU.
or
an 03 v6 tib, and supercharge it, or even an 03 i4 and supercharge and turbo charge it.
or maybe i would just sell out and buy a new Boss Mustang....
the 97-01 tibs styling has gotten more and more appealing to me throughout the years as the new models came out, even between different Makes. im even happier to see how the tiburon fender bulges have mutated to the new line. the old tib style still holds up, it doesnt look like a 15 year old design at all!

That is so true! Me and my brother was just talking about that last week.
I was looking at buying a new Celica GTS in 2001 but the dealer wouldnt budge on their pricing. So my girlfriend at the time had bought a new Accent and loved it. I decided to check out a local Hyundai dealer and they had my car sitting in the showroom. I sat in it, took it for a drive, and fell in love. It was really rare in the sense that not many could be found and I liked the body style of it. The dealer gave me a bunch of discounts and a deal I couldnt pass up, so I signed the paperwork and took it home.
I like others have said dont like the GK style. When people said a 3rd generation tiburon was coming out I was excited until I saw it in person. I was pretty disappointed that the fluidic design of the RD's went away with the GK.

I went to my dads one day and his bosses nephew was there with his 01 and I thought it was sweet. Find out a week later he is selling it going into the marines so I picked it up
