Everytime I try to install an LED bulb, I blow a fuse. First it was my license plate bulb, I took it out and put an LED and it didnt work. I put back the old bulb and that wouldnt work either. Now it happened to my map/dome lights. I took one of the dome bulb out and put in an LED one. As soon as I did that the other bulb went out. Again I put back in the old bulb, and now whenever I open the door....the dome lights dont come on. Anyone have any ideas? help.gif

Are you using the proper LEDs?

are you using resistors, and if so, how many ohms? you need to calculate the proper resistor voltage and sequence for the LED using Ohms Law.

You could always bump up to the next fuse size.

A properly installed LED should pretty much never blow a fuse.

Didnt use any resistors. They were the right size bulbs, but they were those ones that have multiple banks of LEDs versus just the single LED like a regular bulb. Wonder if that had anything to do with it. I replaced the blown fuse and put the regular stock bulbs back in for now. No more fuses blew after that.

If it was a LED bulb made for replacing a regular incandescent, I'm going to guess that the LED bulb was faulty.
