does anyone know off the top of their head the TOTAL length of a stock wheel stud.. im looking around for aftermarket studs long enough and strong enough for my spacers and i need to make sure they will be long enough.
thanks.. |
I really think you need like 5" studs LOL. Mine are 3.5" and are just right for the 1" spacers. Looks like your using 2" spacers so, 5" is about right.

my biggest spacer is 1.75", the smaller one is 1.5". i just need to know the stock length of the stock studs, so i can see if i can get away with using the studs with the 3.25" shank length.

I don't think you'll be safe with that. Mine are 3.5" and I'm just at its safe limits.
When I get home, i'll measure the stock ones if I still have them laying around. |

Ah shit man I forgot. I'll look when I get home tonight.

heres some info i got from another member.. the thread length is about 1 1/4" the knurl length was 3/8" and the total size, including the stop (which was about 1/8") was 1 3/4".
so, if the knurl + the thread length was 1 5/8", that would mean with a 1.75" spacer i would need at LEAST a stud with a shank length (knurl + thread) of 3.375". that would give the SAME amount of thread as the lug nuts as stock. the studs that i found have a shank length of 3.250". so that means if i wanted to get as much thread on the lug nut as stock, this would be 1/8" shorter on the rear two spacers, and i would have 1/8" more on the front spacers. (fronts-1.50", rear 1.75") i think that should be fine. an 1/8" is only ~2.5 threads. and i would have about same as stock anyway. i think that should be fine. |
i havnt looked at them in forever and a half, but 1.25" thread length seem shorter than what i remember them being.
