I have a AEM bypass valve if you want it...I don't remember what I bought it for...but I don't think I'm ever gonna use it. I think maybe $30 would be a good price for it?

lol, hey mindlessdoubt, i've seen you in bel air before! I'll take your Bypass valve as long as its 3".

 

Pull the wires first, stick paper towels down the head and soak up as much water as possible, after you do that take an air compressor and spray it out WITH the plugs still IN! After drying as much as possible, pull the plugs and soak up more water. Shop towels (The blue paper towels at auto zone etc) work great for this. After that, if possible, pull the manifolds off, and the valve cover might be a good one too, and dry up as much shit as possible. Spray some WD40 around, and I'm thinking maybe put some HEET or ISOHEET in the the head too, it does evaporate water and all. Dry out as much as you can before you start it again dude, water can cause serious pressure and can bend a connecting rod if you rush it. Leave your manifolds and stuff off for a night or two also, that way it might air dry. maybe set up some heat lamps, or fans, or dehumidifiers around if possible. Best of luck man.

 

Well I got the plugs out, the head is compltely dry. I just can't get the spark plugs out because my sockets are an 8th of an inch too small. So I have to wait for morning to rent a car stores spark tool. I really want this to work out. I'd hate to see another RD1 out of commision, there's only so many left ;P

 

Shit man, don't make me come out there tomorrow to help you. tongue.gif Just take your time and triple check everything. ou are best off buying a craftsman socket set. they have a 108 piece mechanics ratchets set that I have, and its is great. Has everything in it for 1/4" and 3/8". Plus it has nut drivers, a screwdriver with different bits, and some other goodies.

Get something like this, its even better when you go day after thanksgiving of xmas sale shopping, shits like half off if not more. But here...

Well I found a rachet that fit my spark plug socket, and took 2 extension to get to the plugs but i got them. I belive I have water only in the 3rd cylinder from the left. If I try to turn the car on with the spark plugs out, what will happen?

Will it push the water out at all, will it not do anything, or will I wreck something doing that?

 

I don't think it will wreck anything right now, but i could be wrong. just try and dry out what you can, maybe ask REDZ about it.

 

Wel for the night I have the plugs out, a towel covering the holes so no dust will get in and the hood shut. I'll check it out tomorrow. there isnt a lot of water in the cylinders. I can see the pistons in all 4 cylinders and the 3rd one is just a little wet. I don't see any ammount that would stop the car from starting so where else would the water be?

 

inside the inlet valves? and maybe the intake mnaifold? everytime you try starting her it probably puts back more water in there
