Turn Steering Wheel And Horn Honks
Basically everytime I turn my steering wheel right the horn goes off. I scheduled and appt with my dealership and they said its no longer under warranty since its over 60k miles (I'm at 70k). In the meantime I took the relay out of the fuse box cause it's driving me crazy!
Any suggestions? sad.gif

Hmm... car been in any accidents? When did it start doing this? Out of the blue? Did it happen to start around the time you installed that Alpine headunit? How far did you tear down the dash to install the unit?

is this when you're stationary?
If it's when you're stationary, you probly have something caught in the steering wheel. take off your steering wheel cover and see if you can dislodge anything. I've never personally seen the horn switch, but, when it comes to switches, they're pretty simple... 2 pieces of metal which make contact or do not make contact.
if you're moving when this happens, you have a wire which is frayed, loose, or corroded. It may need replaced, or repaired.
Either way, you will be able to SEE the problem. it's nearly impossible to theorize the problem accurately. Electro-Mechanical parts like switches are the most common thing which goes bad in a circuit. Everyone knows moving parts go bad.

tiburonmoo-- Car WAS in a very minor accident where it was hit in the rear driver side panel, but that was about 1 year and a half ago. It started doing this about a week ago out of the blue. The Alpine headunit was install almost 3 years ago, we didn't tear too much down, just the plastic piece around the radio and shifter.
DrivingTibNaked-- It happens both when I am and am not moving.
Thanks for the input so far guys... keep the ideas coming! I'll def try and look at it myself this coming weekend!

this only happens when you turn it ALL the way to the side? I find this odd.. if it was a contact problem behind the steering wheel, it would happen anytime the wheel was turned past that spot on the contact ring.

yeah, grounding or making contact. remove the steering coloumn cover, and wheel cover, and figure it out. it will most likely be a loose connection on your switch slip ring assy.
