Alright Im going to build 2 boxes for my trunk, one on each side to house a 12 inch subwoofer each. Now I know there is a thing about cubic feet and I understand that, but do I measure from the end of the subwoofer, or do i just measure to box? Im hoping just the box but if someone can answer for this for me I can finally get started. Thanks

Disregard the sub in the calculations. the manufacturer was nice enough to realize that the subwoofer would take up space in the box.

Alright thats what I thought but didnt want to mess up. Im going for your look DTN but on both sides and not fiberglass. Your doesnt seem to be as far out as I measured though. I think I remember seeing that your box was 1cu ft. too... Hmm maybe i measured wrong...

So, if your not going to use FG then how do you intend to get it into that corner and still have it look good? I'd think it would come out kinda odd/out of place. I guess your vision of it could be different than mine though.

its gonna stick out a little farther i think i dont know im just starting up my ideas now, but as of now i want to use the same concept as DTN did.

That may be because mine has fiberglass taking up about a inch on all sides. You won't be able to make 1 CU FT out of a square box in that corner. It will extend over the spare hatch if it is made of wood. Fiberglass will mold to the outside. Keep in mind there is 1728 cu inches in 1 CU FT. It's alot of space mang.

I know i figured that out not too long ago. I made the measurment and thought ah crap i kinda need my spare tire... And plus I still want a trunk. So now Im left trying to think of an idea to allow more trunk space, look cool, and not require FG. Any ideas

If you come up with anything let us know.

I have an idea... build the box onto the spare tire, nail it down and put handles on it, when you want to remove it, just pick up the whole thing.

my origonal setup used a bungee cord to strap the box to the two tiedown points in the trunk.

ur gonna have to sacrifice something for the setup. you could try goin with subs that don't need as much air space if u want to avoid fiberglassing. been lookin at these myself.
