Bosch oil filter, Valvoline 10w-30, level is good. Yes it has done this since the engine replacement.

Sorry, I took 2 other videos and that was (believe it or not) the one where you could hear it the best.

A/C is off, yes. I adjusted the timing belt, it's pretty loose now... but that didn't fix it.

Both tensioners are new.

The only other thing I could think of is oil pump or cam bearing (but from the location of the sound I'm pretty positive it isn't the cam). Although, I've been a member here for a decade, and I've never heard of anyone having to replace their oil pump before..

I have, but only from people using solid crank pulleys and the pump broke. There's a first time for everything and these cars are getting old.

When in doubt about your engine making noises, use an OEM oil filter and Purolator Platinum 5w30 full synthetic. Other filters (specifically the cheapest FRAM) can cause oil starvation.

If you're down to "engine or insanity" anyway, start with the easy parts. Pull the spark plugs and rotate the engine by hand (wrench on the crank pulley nut), after it is hot and has started making the noise. Is the rotation smooth? Are the crank or cam pullies visibly vibrating (runout) during engine operation? How sure are you the camshafts and crank in the new engine were straight? How afraid are you of dropping the oil pan and pulling caps to look at rod bearings? If you still have the original engine, was the oil pump working so you could use it as a troubleshooting replacement part?

I wonder if it might be an exhaust noise?

If possible do use OEM oil filter. I agree with above post , do check that timing belt first.

Does it change in pitch if you rev up the motor? I'm assuming It would. But does it get quieter or louder? Try to get a video of it lightly revving the motor.

Is it louder underneath the car?(closer to the oil pan) or from up top?(closer to the head). Try taking a long screwdriver or a stethoscope if you have one and try and listen and pin point If it's coming from the bottom end or valve train. Or pop the oil cap off while running and listen

Edit* Is this the Tib you dropped the beta2 in?
