Okay, I posted this up before the loss of the site, so here it goes again, but brief.

I swapped out the RSide Advanced on Friday, after taking extensive measurements of position and slop from neutral, then from position to the same points from each shiting point. Once I get some time this week I will try to calculate out some percentages for you, but I can't do much until I put the OEM one back in and get some numbers.

Measurements were all done with the new Digital Caliper that's in the site tools area (Will reupdate that in a few minutes).

First impressions?

Wow. The Megan may take the cake in this battle allready. It's very smooth, and very TIGHT. There is a tiny bit of play in neutral, but maybe 1/8th of what the Rside Advanced had. It also looks like you could get rid of it with a couple of, or maybe one, thin washer.

The knob feels almost as good as the RSide advanced. I've driven with the Megan in the car now for about 3 days, and I tell you what, very very smooth.

Next up will be the ARK, and I will take measurements of the Megan right before I uninstall it this friday.

Have you done #2 and #3 yet? Can't find them..

REDZMAN Jul 25, 2006 05:23 PM

Yes, I have, in my head.

I will start working on them tomorrow. I need to make some measurements, but there is a CLEAR winner in several categories so far.

Hell, I know the one that's STAYING in my car and that I will recommend from now on.

I've modified my RSA, runs real smooth and I really enjoy it. MUCH better than some shifters from friends cars.

I wonder how much nicer this Megan is.

Take some measurements and I'll take some so I can compare my modified against the megan.

I've had damn near every shifter out there. I'm running the Rside in my black car, and Ark sponsored the white car with their shifter. I actually dig the Ark the best. VERY tight. So tight that when I drove the black car again, it felt like the shifter cables weren't clipped in it was so sloppy. I believe the base is just waaaay undersized.

I'll say this about the Megan shifter. While I like it better than the B&M, I missed the little machined tiny ridges along the shaft of the shifter. I used to run my finger nail down the shifter when I was driving, and I know its lame, but I missed that with the smooth Megan shaft.

But the Ark has it, lol. And its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay shorter. Nice ass shifter if I must say so myself, and thats from my experience with over 5 shifters in 2 diferent tiburons. Sadly, my least favorite now it seems is the Rside advanced we all got so excited about way back when. How times change...

I'd have to agree.

The winner, hands down in my opinion, is the Ark shifter and knob.

Megan is in second, with 2 decent problems that they need to take care of. Actually, 3. Maybe 4. LOL

Rside, then the B&M.

WOW, ill have to get the ark. i love having a short shifter, and i remember when everyone went crazy to get the rside advanced shifter.. ive never really cared for how sloppy it is.. arks shifter is on there site, correct? my next investment..

does ark also reduce the throw of the shift the most? or just the best quality?

REDZMAN Jul 26, 2006 08:23 AM

Yes.

Yes and yes.
