Hey. My car just started doing this and i'm not sure what to do or check. When I turn my headlights on, I have no lights in the back of my car except my license plate light. My brake lights DO work when I use them. I usually drive home and by the time I get home they are on. My friend drove behind me and told me that one tail light came on, then after i pushed the brake enough times all three lights were on. Kinda feels like they have to warm up to stay on... any suggestions on where to check for a short, or if i need a new bulb, or alternator...

sorry.. couldn't figure out how to edit the first post.
me and a friend did some more testing and we replaced the two brake light bulbs. Now my lights work fine, but my problem isn't fixed. Apparently my brake lights are malfunctioning. When i depress the brakes lightly, the brake lights do not come on. I have to press very hard on them to get the lights on.. sigh.. any suggestions.

They're the usual bulbs, not leds. How does one go about checking the brake lamp switch?
