Random, is there an ignition system from MSD that can use on my 2001 tib that you know of?

ScreamNTiburon 03-29-2002 03:55 AM

Tip top! is there a link that i can get where i can find these parts?

The model number to get is the DIS-2 PN6211 and you also need a Dual tach Adapter with it.I cant recall the part number but i believe its PN8211.
Anyways i have them in my Tibby and works great :D :D :D

i think if i rember right msd makes one just for imports

Red 03-29-2002 07:28 AM

The MSD for "imports" is the MSD 6AL and the like... The only ignition you can use on the Tiburon/Elantra is one that has the DIS2 label on it because we have a distributorless ignition system.

None of the MSD 6 or 7 units will work

ScreamNTiburon 03-29-2002 08:39 AM

Will the 8.5mm msd wires work with the tib too?

Red 03-29-2002 08:55 AM

Any spark plug wire will "work", so long as it's made for the engine you're putting it on. The "spark plug" connector on our ignition wires is VERY long, and as such you can't use "generic" wires because they simply will not reach that far down.

The best ignition wires to get IMO for a high-output ignition (such as the MSD) would be a set of Magnacor KV85's. I have NEVER heard anything bad out of anyone who used these wires, whereas I've heard other wire manufacturers get complaints from the Hyundai folks with bad impedance, bad ends (come out of the boots), bad performance et al.

A set of KV85's is only like $85 too.

Awesome! Thanks for your help
