The next tiburon
If the CEO of Hyundai came to you and said they were going to design the next tiburon based off of your specs, what you say as far as exterior, interior, performance, and safety goes?
I would say:
Exterior: Keep the sexy curviness that all 3 generation tibs are known for
Interior: Premium leather, premium sound, stay away from the tacky silver or chrome plastic accents, have a good shifter with no slop, paddle shifters for the autos
Performance: Direct Injection Turbo...nuff said
Safety: Front and side airbags, carbon fiber or poly metal crash guards to keep weight down, exotic sports car like handling, large brembo brakes
Keep it all under 20 G's and maybe even RWD....you would have one hell of a winner. Then again, alot of what I just mentioned is in the Gen Coupes, so I doubt this will ever come to production sadly

I wouldn't change the Tib except for a few design flaws like the stupid cupholders.
The Tib was meant to be a cheap sporty looking car. If it got any kind of updates relating to a sportscar, then the price would go well over 20k, and it would compete with the Genesis. The Tib was a great car for the category it was in.
Now, the Genesis.......more power from the start, stronger internals, a lighter race version............

i say the tib should stay fwd, it should become a sporty vehicle thats a half way point between the bottom barrel and the elite
fwd, turbo 4 banger pumpin out 225-250 or so, keep it around 20-25 grand and a lesser, non turbo version under 20 grand for those who want the looks of a sports car and dont care whats under the hood

I'd have to say that i like the drawing of this one. And i agree with Faithofadragon about the engine options. Even though I think a RWD would be more fun it would really compete with the Genises right now, Hyundai would never do that.
you don't want two options within the same product line competing. You want something that will compete with the competition, not yourself.
The Veloster runs too close in price rangs and performance to have room for a "Tiburon" model, IMO. The Gen Coupe is already $24-30k with the Veloster between $16-20k... having another sport minded vehicle 20-24 is just crowding the dealership, IMO
