Can somebody please post pics of where the Stock 5 speed shifter is located when it's in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and reverse without the shift boot on.

I would like the console to be on in these pics so I can see how far away the shifter sits from console in every gear cause I plan on making a custom length shifter out of my current one that was modified years ago and now I don't like it.

I have no pictures as you requested... If it helps though, the stock shifter nearly touches the surround in 1st gear.

 

What about 4th gear? how far away is it from the surround?

I don't recall, however the reverse gear had a substantially greater distance. You can perform an adjustment by setting your cable length differently. The length can be adjusted near the rocker arms under the surround.
