Keeping water spots out of cupholder

What do you guys recommend to keep water spots off/out of the bottom of the cupholder?

Never put anything in the cup holder? The only way to prevent water spots is to prevent water. The only way I can think to do that AND have drinks in the car is to use a paper towel on the bottom of the cup, which IMO looks worse than a few water spots. Surely there is a cleaning product along the lines of armor-all that will make them disappear when you detail the car but I don't know what that product is

because I don't care about water spots in my cup holders.

You can pull the rubber base out of the cupholder, just find an edge or jam a lever in there to get started. I give mine a good wash out of the car and then reinstall.

Every car I've ever been in that has had cupholders, has had some form of rubber insert.

^ you must not have been in very many cars, then

Hard to avoid water spots if you actually use your cupholders.

But most detail sprays or white vinegar (in a spray bottle) with get rid of water spots.

I put all my drinks between the passenger seat and the ebrake on my 01 Tiburon. I hate the cup holders in that car.
