Ok, here's the deal. My car's temp shot up to the redzone out of nowhere on friday at a redlight and so now I have the wonderful task of figuring out what happened. I'm doing several things at once for right now and one of them is replacing the T-Stat since it's only $5.99 and it's something I've wanted to do myself for a while now.
So on to my problem. I am following the steps on webtech. I drained my radiator and removed the 2 screws on my inlet/outlet thing(webtech can't make up it's mind on if it's in or out). However, that's where I'm stuck! I can't get that damn thing off! I've tried muscle and rocked the whole car making the car bounce and everything. I tried the wedging my screwdriver behind it and in the bolt holes to break the seal and nothing either way! What am I missing? Edit: Uhh... nevermind. owned.gif My dad came by and with 2 taps of a mallet on a screwdriver knocked it off. owned.gif He saw a way to get at it from an angle I didn't see and didn't have a problem with it at all I guess my frustration got the better of me. nana.gif nana.gif nana.gif |
mallets can be a wonderful thing. No doubt it was gunk from your cooling system, the gasket, and the sealant that Hyundai uses on the gasket surfaces that had hardened into a nasty solid mess.
might want to consider flushing your cooling system while you are at it. |
Yeah, since you have it all off and drained, flush, backflush, and flush again.
