I am finding it hard to get my hands on polyurethane filler, but I have epoxy resin at work that i may be able to use instead.

Epoxy is very hard once set, any ideas on wether it will work?

I know socks made some solid engine mounts. It might work if the epoxy can withstand the force. Socks says his car drives smoother with a solid mount.

Do you know the hardness characteristics? Typical polyurethane motor mounts are around 60 Shore A hardness.

You have in your sig that you have polyurethane motor mounts on the way.

I ordered some mounts from Shark Racing over 2 months ago and did not receive them, every time I email they did not respond so I got my money back.

The epoxy resin can withstand around 50 N/mm2 in compressive strength may be more but I don't know how that translates in hardness. It is known to be very low in flexural strength.

i would think the epoxy resin would end up cracking under the stress.. poly urethane is more flexible and easy as hell to find.. go to lowes or home depot. you will have a ton of stuff to choose from in a tube.. thats what i ended up using and it works GREAT.

my rear mount has been welded completely solid with two 1/4" steel plates, and my front is polyurethane filled, with a bushing to tighten up tolerances.. i can barely even put the crossmember back on with how hard the mounts are and the bushing.

but you definately can feel the difference.. its a nice difference. fing02.gif speaking of this, i have to go wrestle with mine to try and get it back on 02.gif
