So last weekend I'm 3 hours away from home visiting my family and some friends when my power windows stop working. I run around town late on a sunday night to try and find a replacement fuse for it (I pulled the fuse but it's a block fuse and I can't tell if it's fried or not) I finally get one the next day @ home from hyundai.....not working.......so I booked it in with hyundai with a service advisor i've had good dealings with.......wiring harness on both front drivers and passenger doors are f***ed.....pricetag of $500 per side The new replacement wiring harness is DIFFERENT than the stock one COMPLETELY, so even if I try to do it myself I will need BOTH wiring diagrams and that's a PAIN to do So now I'm stuck going into summer with no power windows and NO HOPE of repairing them soon cause I'm on a tight student budget

....why is the new harness different from the stock one? Especially if you're getting it from the dealership?

Do you have any junkyards near you? That's where I would be heading.

I am wondering more on the lines on how the harness is fried?? if you know how to use a multi-meter get in there and start pinning it out to find where your problem is, I just don't understand how a whole harness can be fried. I work with eletrical harnesses everyday and have never heard of a fried harness, you might have a bad switch, a bad ground, or a broken wire all which should be pretty straight forward to find, but then you do need the wire schematic, but i am sure someone here has one, But if you don't want to go that way do like Java said hit the junkyards

Been there done that....the entire harness is getting nothing.......i checked it and hyundai check it, i didn't even put the door panel back on when i gave it to them......basically they said it's from corrossion, water getting in there "somehow" and i guess somewhere in the harness something is broken like all the way across somehow....i dunno it's stupid and I am VERY pissed about this cause I don't have the time to be spending on fixing my car with midterms coming up.........i dunno I mean hyundai had it in their shop and that's what their tech told the service advisor.....

yeah, try to find time to call the junkyards around you and see if they have the same car in and get going (just wonder if the harness will be cross compatible from a tib or even an accent)

it's not going to be an easy pull job though so be ready to have all the tools and the time you need

good luck man
