Lately, anytime I turn off the car and get out, I get shocked when I close the door, as if someone rubbed up against the carpet and touched me. Anyone else have the same thing happen to them? What could be causing it?

The solution, by the way, is to grab the car by the roof or door frame as you step out. You are grounding yourself, having generated a few thousands of volts on your body with your polyester pantsuit.

I get it a lot - super annoying!! ^^^ It usually happens when I close the door to the car, so grabbing the roof or door frame = get shocked earlier.
I get shocked really bad come winter time. Really bad, as in I've seen the little blue arc connect with the door handle before opening it........ OUCH! Even people who are walking with me can hear it zap and are like "wow, what was that??" Worst is wearing sneakers on carpet. Only way I can discharge myself is to touch something like brick or stone before touching the metal. Cinder blocks work really well, or the side of a brick/stone building, for example.

I get zapped every single time I get outa my car unless I have a passenger. If they get out first then they get zapped. No joke every single dam time and ive always wondered if it was the rewire job I did for the beta swap. With all the build up its no wonder im pissin eletrical currents in my urine, lol.
i live in the south and it dont get cold enough in georgia. that being said i would recommend grabbing a metal part of the car while your still making contact with your seats this way you grounded before you become a battery.

I used to get it really bad. Then I changed my stock cloth seats for Carbon Fiber Viny. It's never happened since. I think the RD is probly the most shocking car I've ever ridden in!
