1999 Hyundai Tiburon FX

I was reading my carfax report and it said that my car comes with 4 wheel ABS. Last time I slammed on the brakes, I didn't feel any ABS. In my opinion, 4 wheel disc brakes with non-ABS is useless.. or even worse because you fish tail alot...

Another easy way to tell.. on your dash should be a light marked "ABS" it should come on when you start the car and then go out to let you know it is working. My late 99 tib did not have ABS (probably would not have gotten in the accident if it had) but there was still a spot for the light.. it had the markings "ABS" but never ever came on.

Or you can check the ABS fuse.

yeah i noticed that my car once had ABS until i then found out my ABS fuse was missing. i heard our hubs don't have ABS teeth, that they're located elsewhere.

is it possible to get rid of your ABS by changing hubs? i'm concerned because i did a 2000 hub swap for my 1997.

On the front wheels ABS teeth rings are on the outter CV joints
On the rear wheels ABS teeth rings are on the hub.

So this is what I was wanting to know, I just got a 2001 Tiburon and last night was finishing up the radio installation and when I started working on it I pulled the airbag fuse and disconnected the ground on the "BAT", well when pulling the airbag fuse noticed the ABS fuse was gone does this mean previous owner took it out or this car didn't come with ABS. I figured by 2001 all cars came with ABS, guess that's kind a stupid but don't under stand why a 98 car came with them and a 01 wouldn't. Got rid of a 98 Chevy Cavalier basic model for this 01 Tiburon I guess basic model as well but it's got more goody's than the Chuby had. So is it possible I have no ABS?

Thanks,

Brad
