So with SOCKS guidance, I've decided I'm going to get a custom exhaust built. So, with this custom exhaust, should I... Get a normal cat, a high flow cat, or no cat? And also what type of muffler should I get? Should I shell out for the Apexi N1, or get a dif one?

Get a hi-flow cat. It hardly effects performance in my understanding, and it keeps your car legal... Its good to reduce emissions ^^

Far as muffler goes... depends on what you're going for. Magnaflow mufflers sound awesome (find a few clips on here if you search) and flow great. If you want a quieter version go with a 3 chamber Magnaflow, zoned has been claiming this works just as well as a straight through muffler except it reduces the volume a bit.

Getting a 3 chamber means you'll have to get a tip, but you can get a custom tip to add a personal touch to your car. Personally I love dual tips...

Personally I don't mind noise, long as its not high pitched and whiny, but prefer a quieter version, more stealth like cool.gif

Oh and throw in a glasspack as well... I'd get a 24" , shaves you on piping and makes it sound better to boot!

Welllllll, what I want, really, is the angled exhaust. First off it gives you better flow, and I also like the look of it. Here's my awesome picture I showed socks to show what I want.

I live east of almost everyone here.. so I am downwind of all gasious emissions.. I would prefer to run a cat. Not only will this keep you from getting a cel and make sure your car is legal, but it would keep me from banning your arse from the site.

I like breathing clean air

i vote kitty cat

BlizagaXx May 6, 2007 04:43 PM

nevermind.... lol

What is a good highflow cat anyways? Magnaflow?

pr00f568 May 6, 2007 04:51 PM

i got a magnaflow high flow cat off eBay for like $50 shipped....

SOCKS_old May 6, 2007 05:22 PM

with N/A put a cat on..

i have no cat because it was cheaper, it wouldn't pass emissions anyway with turbo, going catless is insignificant to the atmosphere not only on a global scale; but on a statewide scale, and less backpressure. lol

but if your NA and run without a cat, itll sound like crap, trust me, i did it for like 1 hour lol.

So you're saying that i should run without a cat if i go Turbo?

What if i keep my high flow cat, will i lose horses?

Anyway yeah a good high flow car is a magnaflow, and there are some that already come with the O2 bunges so they wont have to drill in the pipe for it.
