Quick Question...

During the winter months do any you guys out there take your CAI off because of the weather? Makes me a little nervous to think that the winter months around here with the snow and all and thinking that I will suck up a bunch of water and then be toasted.

I live in MD. It rains and shows and I never had any problems with mine!

I'm in Ontario, Canada and we can get some pretty severe winter weather and I've never had any problems or concerns.

Snow is nothing to worry about as long as the filter is contained in the fender well. While hydrolock definitely does happen, it takes a lot...and I mean a LOT of water to do so. You pretty much have to drive straight into flood waters over a foot deep. 99% of hydrolock stories start with "well I knew it was deep but I decided to try it anyway..." laugh.gif

Well I live in the Poconos, and we get serious snowstorms and bad weather in general year round, but I don't think you have to worry about it in VA. The problem would be if you have one of the Ebay CAI that don't actually go behind the fog light and just hang down in the engine bay IMO. The intake is pretty well protected if you have the AEM, and it would take quite a bit of water to get up in there.

The Pocono's rock, Bushkill falls is such a great beautiful place. That is all smile.gif [/thread hijack]
