Hey guys. I picked up some R-134a "with Sub-Zero" synthetic A/C Booster.
I read the directions on the back, hooked up my little gauge, and read that the low pressure line had no pressure. I tried to fill it with some PAG oil, and had the blower set to max inside the car, with the A/C button pushed in. Everything seemed to do fine, but after I emptied the can, I didn't know what else to do, and I just pulled the slip top connector off the vavle on the low pressure line, right in back of the engine on the passenger side. That sh!t sprayed back at me the second I pulled off the slip connector. It should have stopped any flow, similar to when you remove a compressor fitting from your valve stem on the tire. But this thing just sprayed everything I just put in back out. It was only 3 oz of PAG.
I tried again with 18 oz of the R-134a, and again after the can was empty, I did as instructed, and when I pulled it off, that chit sprayed back at me, till I capped the valve. It still has some pressure in the line, but when I loosen the valve, it sprays out instantly. So my question, is why is my compressor not sucking it up? Is there something I should check before I replace the compressor? I know a shop should do this, but I'm already 30 bucks invested (down the drain now) so I want to finish what I started. I have one 18 oz can left, and I have no clue why everything went perfect up until I pulled the connector off the valve on the low pressure line. Also, the gauge I believe read that the pressure was all the way maxed out, instead of having no pressure??? I'm confused as hell, as the gauge never showed a steady rise in pressure, I just noticed all the sudden that the needle was on the other side of the little line from where it started, like it had gone all the way around 360º and then stopped at full max. But there is not a damn change whatsoever in A/C and obviously the car is not sucking up the R-134a at all. Any help fellas, thanks!
