At first I thought my p/s belt is squeeling, but after I went to the shop, mechanic siad it's your A/C.

He sprayed WD40 on the AC belt it almost not helped but then it got quiter, maybe it got on a A/C clutch.. He tightened a bit the belt and now it almost not squeel, but I think it's temporary.

It squeeled with A/C on and off.

What can it be? I think it's a clutch. How to cure it?

PS> don't tell me to get rid of A/C nana.gif

sounds like the a/c clutch is going bad. if that's the case the only thing to do is replace it. try useing some wax on the belt, it may surprise you.

I think vvvvv belt cannot squeel.

Is there any way to cure this problem? It's getting really annoying.

v-belts can squeell. put some wax on it it will quiet down. they sell stick wax just for this kind of thing. if you can't find that buy a cheap candle and use it.

I'm 90% sure it's not the belt

you mentioned that you heard the sound regardless if the a/c was on or off right.. but did the noise get louder when the a/c was turned on? and vise versa when it was turned off? right now it sounds like it is the belt, to me. you said that the squealing "almost" went away, so is it still making the noise. too much wd40 can make the belts squeal too.

sounds like you're going to have to put aside some time to play with this. what year is your car? mine is 2001. if yours is the same as mines try taking off the a/c belt "ONLY" and leave the rest on. (i can't remember if you will have to take any of the other belts off to do this, but if you do, just make sure you put them back on) start the car and try to listen for the noise. if the noise is still there try to pinpoint where it's coming from. if the noise went away, put the belt "back" on and start the car again (make sure all belts are good and tight, keep in mind that they don't need to be superman tight). if the noise is still there it's more than likely compressor related. at this point either you'll have to diagnose it yourself or take it to the dealer. that shhhhk shhhhk shhhhk sound you said sounds like the a/c clutch. sterb029.gif
