I was driving home from work today and I shifted into 5th and put my foot down, car revved, car shuddered, car died. I coasted it to the side of the road, tried to restart, you can hear it tryin to start just fine but it wouldnt start. Felt like it does when your doing a compression test with the coil unplugged.

Long story short, the fusible link for the ECU was blown, put a new one in, fired right up. Thought everything was fine so I started driving again drove fine until I put my foot down, car shuddered again, died. In neutral you can rev the crap out of it, and have no problems. Its only when your in gear under load. Now my clutch has been slipping some for awhile now, and its recently getting worse. Can a slipping clutch do this? Ive never heard of this happening to anyone before. Im clueless as to where I should start.

Ive not touched any wiring, or modded the car in any way in the past few months, so I dont think its anything I did.

Any ideas guys?

There have been reports of wires shorting out to the pedals, which you will need to be upside-down under your dash while driving to notice when it happens . . .

did you extended any of the O2 sensors? if so, some times the cables may come in contact with one and other and it shorts. it happend to me and luckly i had read a thread about it and i un plugged the o2 sensor and voila! no more trouble and i made it home.
