Opinions needed on Beta Supercharger. Is it possible to run a twin charged setup with a MP45?

 

Don’t go that way… have tried it and it is not worth it. I’ve used MP62 S/C (7 psi) and T3 turbo setup (17 psi).







Save your money and time and just buy good turbo

I have an airram and turbonetics 60 and heltech platinum 1000 for tuning just waiting on fuel pump and injectors to install turbo. Just had a chance to buy a supercharger and was thinking about the twin. Was also thinking about getting another RD. How does the supercharger perform as a dd. Not looking for anything crazy right around 200whp if possible with some supporting mods and meth injection.

Alpine used to develop an S/C for Beta's back in the day. You can still find some here and there for sale that are used but they were never worth the cost because the power output was very small. Beta's are great boost but only if you are going the turbo route. Supercharging is not worth it and you'll be wasting time and money considering the same time and money could go towards a turbo and you'll have way more power.

 

I agree with pretty much what everyone has already said. I also tried the twin set up with both a MP45 and M62 on the Beta II engine. Was a NIGHTMARE to tune and traction was none existent all the way through 2nd gear and most of 3rd. Plus you MUST have a built block to even think about twincharging.



If your block is built and you want to be different think about sequential turbocharging. Get a small turbo for low end and a biggun for the top end.

Yeah the Alpine kits weren't really designed for upgrade or more boost flexibility. You quickly max out the efficiency of that little M/MP45 blower.

 

i do have built beta engine 1.8 setup with to much to list and turbo is close to being done. i can get the sc for a 1000 was also think of getting it for the wifes beta she only wanting around 200whp so what kind of hp did you guys get out of the sc? and innovative does my tuning so not worried about tuning
