I replaced my alternator last night with a brand new one. All went well except the thing is not charging. I looked all over for a fuse but cannot find one. Any pointers?

Make sure you hooked up all the plugs on it. smile.gif I'm not sure about the tib alternator but the easiest to miss on my old sentra was the ground cable that screwed onto the side of the casing.

I'll double check everything now that it is daylight. I did see the 100A fuse for the alternator, it is fine. I was wondering if there was another one somewhere.

Yep, already checked that one it has continuity. I have continuity from the B+ terminal on the alternator all the way to the battery. I am thinking it is something in the regulator harness that went bad. Any pointers on how to troubleshoot that?

Might be kind of a stupid thing, but just double check to make sure your BATTERY is in good condition. If you can jumpstart your car and it will run, then the alternator is working just fine. I had the same issue arise the last time I changed my alternator. Before my alternator completely went out, it managed to fry the battery as well. Once i replaced the battery, all was well with my new alt.

The car would not run if I disconnected the battery. I fixed the problem though. I pulled the new alternator and took it and the old one to autozone for diagnostics. Both of them checked out good. When I got home I put the old one back in the car and it is charging the battery fine. I don't really understand why the new one checked good if it would not charge the battery though.

Was the new one a Reman? I can say in the the tons of cars i have work on in and out of the shop for many years we have tested alternators that say they are good, and than may run for a a day than go bad. We have Replaced the new one again over and over at times , they just go bad sometimes you just end up buying BAD NEW "reman"alternators.

Yeah, the new one was a remanufactured one. It has a one year warranty on it so I guess I will contact them for a replacement.

Sorry, I would have usually done this when I saw the problem.... I was not myself last night

Check the circled items and I have no idea what the resistor marked ??? would be.
