Hey guys,

Just wondering if the AEM CAI is compatible with the 1.8L engine. AEM's website seems to think not. Just wondering smile.gif

The Beta1 engine is only different internally between the 1.8 and 2.0, so ANYTHING that bolts on to a 2.0 will bolt on to a 1.8 (even a Beta1 1.6 that exists in Europe and Southamerica) Throttle Bodys, Intake Manifolds, Headers, Camshafts (only have to be carefull if lift is extreme because there is a little difference in valve/piston clearence), pulleys, etc.

to answer you're question yes, it will work with the 1.8L

just curious what year is your car?

and I swear, this question is asked twice a month! there IS a search function on this site that you can use to search ALL previous threads.

I beleave it is filter from AEM any filter with a 3" boot on it should fit (I beleave the aem is 3) just measure the size of the pipe and get a filter that fits that size pipe.

Also the AEM intake will work ont he 1.8L

look in your fender well, kinda peek behind your wheel if ya don't feel like taking it off, and check to see if there is a black box with a purge valve connected to it and hoses running in and out of it.

If you see one you might wanna check this thread out:

and this one is better, tells ya how to remove it and make room for the AEM:
