I also notice a lower cut off. the 2.0 ecu I had to 123 to 125 and no cut off

I really didn't notice much of a difference at all. I sold mine because I am going to boost.

can't go wrong if you only spend $20

I had pretty good response from mine, no speed limitation 125 was still where I decided to back off, no dead spots, no problems at all. Definately a good run for my car.

exept for a speed limiter a around 110mp/h i didn't get anything, note that i'm using a smt-6 to play with timing and fuel already,so i might have to redo a new smt-6 program to get better gains, but i don't feel it's worth it (in my case with the smt-6)so i'm switching back to the 2.0 tibby ECU

Just remember, most 97 tibs will throw a CEL with 2.0 injectors. I switched 1.8 injectors in place, and the car was smoother running, tho not as punchy at high rpms. I'm putting the 2.0 injectors in this weekend and turning on my SAFC2... we'll see how it actually reacts, maybe I'll take a look with the 1.8 injectors and the 2.0, there's been a lot of talk over it before, but its really unknown what better on the 2.0. I think the 1.8 injetors may be enough for daily driving a stock tib if its throwing a CEL. Then again, i never swapped my ECU, I had the 1.8 engine and swapped the 2.0 in wink1.gif

i was wondering is there anyway to remove the speed limiter because elantra where limited to 180km/h and with the tid i can get to ~225 i know it's not safe to do that on the road but hey 180 is to slow sad.gif

Maverick, sometimes it's better to think before you talk... There is no reason to top out your car unless you are on the track... Did you not see the post last month about a guy in a GK that got turned into a crushed Pepsi Can? And for that matter, you are pulling this shit out of your arse. Tibs don't go 140... They top out at mid 120's I believe... So unless you are from Puerto Rico and got one of the modded ECU's from BlueSpanish Shark, no you didn't. The 1.8l ECU doesn't really give you performance gains, REDZMAN said he got like 75-100 miles per tank more, some say the throttle response is a little better, also on some tibs there is a dead spot at a certain RPM range, but you aren't going to get "OMFG 25HP!!!111!1O!NE!!!?!" It's just a simple mod. Don't expect much if any noticeable gains guys... Learn to search and read too. There has been an ongoing 1.8l ECU discussion in DIY for the past month, more than enough info.

Hey he may 225km/h, but that is only when he pulls the needle off his speedo and sets it to say 80 when he is still parked in the garage. Then he thinks he can keep up with a porsche carrera, like vroom vroom I haul a$$ now.

Maverick I hope you drive into a concrete wall and hurt nothing, but your car and you for being a complete idiot.

For Rev A 1998 and 1997 I'd say this is a pretty important mod. I noticed quite a difference, but I can understand why people with non Rev As aren't that impressed with the gains (if any). Though Redz swears by it, so heh *shrug*

Bottom line: I'm happy with it
