This is a custom made big brake kit i have designed for the 03-08 Hyundai Tiburon.



This kit consist of the needed caliper adapter brackets and all needed mounting hardware, extended stainless steel brake lines, 3mm spacers that go behind the rotor for lower control arm clearance, rotors, brand new calipers that come with ceramic pads and pad hardware. Everything you need to bolt this kit on is included. If you are running the stock 17x7 wheels like in the pic, you will need a 10mm spacer for the wheel to clear the caliper, i used a spacer kit i got here on eBay that came with extended studs and it worked great no issues at all. I am now running 18x8 +33 genesis coupe wheel without the spacers and no problems at all. This brake kit will stop on a dime and give you 8 cents change, really it is that good!! My 2006 Tiburon GT stops the same as it did stock with very little pedal pressure, and when/if you need to pull up in a hurry you got all the brakes you will ever need.



Ive been running this kit on my car since January of this year, and have had no problems, no vibration issues, it just stops straight and true every time. This is a much better kit than any other one on the market, because it will give you OEM reliability, which is something the aftermarket kit cannot give you.



You will never find a brake kit this big, that is a bolt on deal, with OEM reliability at this price!!

Man last night I was just thinking about a big brake kit for my gk while doing brakes on a ford 500. I would def like more info on availability. Your in Austin to I'm also here in the Centex, Killeen, might come check out your shop.

 

I have 4 sets of the adapter brackets and all the mounting hardware here ready to go, and i order the calipers, rotors and brake lines on an as needed basis, because on the rotor you can get just a plain replacement style rotor, or cross drilled and slotted or just drilled or just slotted. Also since the calipers are an OEM Hyundai part i have a few sources for some used low mile units that will save a few hundred bucks over buying a new set and work just as good. Since your semi-local we can do the install for you as well.



These kits i have listed are for brand new calipers, and cross drill/slotted/zinc washed rotors

If you wanted to go with some low mile use calipers and plain rotors i could get you the whole kit for about 250 less.

 

I presume these are the calipers from the GC?

Could you make a plate for RDs? I have a spare knuckle I can send for testing. Also what size rotors are used?

If the stock GK calipers will fit on the older RD models, then yes my adapter bracket should bolt right up. The rotors are 13.4" from the Genesis Coupe with factory brembo brakes, and the calipers are a 4 piston iron from the V8 Genesis Sedan.



The RD Tib uses a 4x114 lug pattern, is the hub size the same as the GK Tibs? If so then the GK Tib is a 5x114 lug pattern, so it may just be a matter of redrilling a few holes to make it work. Also on the GK tibs you have to put a 3mm spacer between the hub and rotor to space the rotor out from the lower control arm, and this is something i cant check since i dont have an RD tib local.

honestly though, this setup would be EXTREME overkill for a vehicle as light as a tiburon

Hub size is the same as the GK, so i think just a couple of holes need redrilled and it would be good to go. And i have this brake setup on my car with ABS and i have no issues, with very light pedal pressure it stops as good or better than stock, and you have plenty in reserve in case the need arises. Now if your car doesn't have ABS then yes you would need to learn to modulate the pedal pressure or you will def have lock up and lots of smoke. With the smaller/lighter RD tibs this may be overkill, but i feel its the perfect setup for the GK tibs.



I'm also working on a rear upgrade with 12.4 rotors and relocating the stock GK caliper for the larger rotor due to the built in parking brake, i have the adapter brackets designed and cut, got the new rotors and pads, just need to get the time to figure out what hardware will be needed to bolt it on.
