*help* Passenger Side Door Won't Lock
I have a 2000 Tiburon and the lock has been a little odd lately (hard to unlock), unless you do it manually with the key.
Just yesterday I was at the mall and the door would not lock.
I tried pushing it with finger, tried using the key, I even tried putting majority of my body weight on it...
Still nothing... Barely budged, it just popped right back up once i took body weight off.
I decided to take off the door panel (took a little bit of work because power window wire box would not come out).
I looked over how it works and nothing is damaged nor is anything broken.
If anyone has any suggestions please shoot me a reply, I am keeping the door panel off until I get this fixed.

Same Problem Mine is usually weird when its cold but i have had the passenger side not unlock. when its cold i cant even put my key in the driver side. in thinking water is getting in there and freezing but im not sure. I dont have any suggestions on what to do. I could use some myself.
Well I found out the problem if anyone wanted to know,
All you need is a good old can of WD-40 (or any other lubricating spray that has a straw to aim the spray...AND it should be able to drive out/remove moisture)
Then you have to make sure you removed the door panel (if it is the first time it could be tricky).
Once you do that just make sure you spray the rods and pulleys well and then make sure you have mobility in the lock, move it up and down a few times.
Then you wont have to worry about it freezing up anymore...
The key this is not too tough, similar thing... get a lubricating spray that drives out/removes moisture... spray the metal part of your key and if you have an aiming straw try to spray in the keyhole as well. Might have to do this every few days off the start but it will be sure to fix the key issue.
If anyone has any other ways to do it, easier or what not would love to hear it!

graphite and or silicone lubricant, they both tend to prevent the problem from reoccuring in my experience, wd40 may as well, but especially with the lock, a little of either can keep it from freezing up on you.
Thanks for the feedback...
Funny story... After I put the door back on and all the screws and everything, the lock turned out to lock and unlock much easier that ever before... (so the WD-40 was a good choice...) but after I played with the lock a little bit to get everything situated properly...
IT GOT STUCK AGAIN... need to find source of problem... I definitely put enough lube... think maybe the locking mechanism is messed up... might have to take off a little more than the door panel if it happens again. It is a manual lock in case anyone was wondering... did not want to get automatic locks... It helps me to be kinder to the lady friends, I open the door for them...
I will leave the door unlocked... have a day off school and work tomorrow, will deal with it then!
Any other ideas are appreciated

LOL... Oh that's funny... you make it sound like Canadian cars are made so differently... like we drive our cars from the back seat or something... Power doors is an option with most cars... previous owner decided not to get that feature... I am still yet to take off the door and go for a second shot at fixing that lock.
Been a little busy, but I am going up north to visit some relatives and to bring my bro back here.
While I am there for the week I will just do it then... Will give me some personal time, which at times we all have too much relatives! Anywho, not much else to say...
