is the new sonata called the yf? what does that stand for?

Yes it is.

It's the chassis code, they usually don't stand for anything. Some Hyundai chassis codes supposedly do, such as LC Accents reportedly meaning "Little Champ", but I don't know if that's even accurate for sure.
