Default to iPod
Another new Sonata owner question for the board.
Is there a setting anywhere that will prevent my car to default to a connected iPod when I start the car? I would like it much better if I could choose what the audio system defaults to, like default to XM radio. Again I am loving the board and the car  |
Welcome to the forum!
Unfortunately I can't answer your question. My gut feeling is that you probably can't set the default away from a connected external device. If you can figure out how to enter the audio menu (if there is one) you should be able to look around and find the option if it is there. Good luck! |
The Genesis will automatically switch to the external device (iPod, phone, etc.) when the USB is plugged in. I'm guessing there is NOT an override, as it seems it is intentionally meant to switch to the USB device as soon as it's recognized.
When I think about it, if I plug my phone/iPod in via the USB, I'm most likely wanting to listen to it. It seems logical that Hyundai is trying to save you a step in the process by assuming you'd want to change to USB input, but everytime I plug in my phone to charge I have to switch it back to FM or CD. btw... why is your name "newgenesis" and you're driving a "newsonata" ? it's confusing me |
You could always hack up a usb cable. The red wire controls power. Run that to a switch.

The name Newgenesis kinda seemed appropriate after life events caused me to reexamine things and start over. |
