Checking out new Sonata
 
Hi all. I just joined and hope to be a permanent member. I'm going to look at a 2011 Sonata Sunday and really don't have a clue what to listen for and what I can do during the test drive. Can someone help me on what to look for when checking this car out? This is the car> $6,300

I haven't been paying attention to Sonatas especially but for any used car:

Take it to an independent mechanic for an inspection. Set up that as an appointment with the mechanic beforehand, and if the seller won't let you get it inspected then get a different car from someone else. This will cost a hundred-ish dollars but it can save you thousands, so it is worth it!

At the very least, give it a look-over using a checklist like one of these:
