I believe front wheel drive cars generally understeer. To counter understeer, you have to reduce speed by lifing off the gas. Rear wheel drive cars generally oversteer. Most passenger car suspensions are designed with a certain amount of understeer if not mistaken. It is much safer and easier to correct than oversteer. Ideal suspension would be neutral setup.

To correct understeer; softer front spring rate, stiffer rear spring rate, small front sway bar,thicker rear sway bar, raise front tire pressure, lower rear tire pressure. To correct oversteer; stiffer front spring rates, softer rear springs, larger front sway bar, smaller rear sway bar, lower front tire pressure, higher rear tire pressure.
