I thought I saw some where that the new Tib was built off the Sonata platform? Which, I believe, happens to be the same as the Santa Fe. I could be, and probably am, totally wrong.

 

Ok, took some close ups of a Santa Fe today, I'll post them later. The CRDI plate is on the GOLD's, but not the other. So, this is NEW here also.

Anyway.

I just realized something.

This is not a TURBO BETA engine.

In some countries hyundai sells a 2.0L siruis engine. closer to a 4g63t then a BETA is.

think of the 2.4L in the states but with 2.0L

they sell this siruis engine on the santafe and sonata platforms.

Bore and stroke of the 2.0L siruis is 86 mm x 97 mm

And on top of it, I bet you can slap the 2.4L head on it.

and have something similar ot a 4g64t

look slike DSM powa has been handed down to hyundai.

And they decided to wait on for a bit.

Next we will see a awd elantra

I can read Korean Hangul but I can speak English like you..I am Korean.

This Photo is Korea Domestic model Santafe GOLD.
It is Turbo Deisel model.
It only sells in Korea and some Europ market.
Not a Gasoline Engine.

And...Hyundai doesn't use 4G turbo Engine for Santafe.
Santafe use Turbo Diesel and Delta V6 (2.4 - 2.7)

Serisour engine use only EF-sonata 2.0 model in Korea but this will stop someday.
They already 1.8 serious to Beta 1.8 already.

* Delta engine
Hyundai develop Delta 3.5 engine now.
It will product until 2005-6.

* I4 engine
From 2002, Hyundai have developed Seta I4 engine with Crysler, Benz.
It will finished 2007-8 maybe..
until that time, they use Beta.

* Design form
Do you know that EF sonata 2003 and Mercedes New E calss has same basig design concept.
Chrysler, Mercedes Hyundai cowork now.
It looks very simillar.

* charged engine
Hyundai doesn't developed any turbo engine.
But they consider supercharger.
New concept car will show you this Detroit motor show.
This is a kind of SUV and which engine is supercharged.
