Wiring up the water temp gauge

Hey everybody

I've been doing some more work to the beta accent as late, and this has involved wiring up the stock water temp gauge to the elantra loom. What I did:

>Find where pin 2 of the coolant temp sensor connects to the interior

>Trace the wire that this pin connects to in the footwell

>Solder those together

But the temp gauge isn't moving. Can anyone point out what is going wrong here? Does the cluster use a different/more pins, or am I meant to tap terminal 3 of the ECT sensor? Cheers guys :)

Did you have the 1.5 or 1.6L accent before the swap?

It was the 1.5 DOHC, so effectively the 1.6.

I did scour webtech, but the diagrams focus on the LC2 cluster with digital odometer, which features a completely different pinout.
