What's a good price to pay for a Beta 1 for a swap?

There are a ton of Beta 1's on ebay in the $250-700 price range. They have mileage between 140K and 55K. Im not too worried about the mileage since the engine would be ripped apart and all new stuff put in and the block would be machined. So since I plan to do that, does it make sense to get one of the engines that are only $250 even though it has a ton of miles on it?
