little problem to get beta2 swap in lc1 running

ok, so here is the actual situation.

i swap the beta2 engine into my Lc1 body,

i use the lc1 wiring, sensor (including the crank sensor)...

i use beta 2 coil pack as well... and i flip the wire as recommended here by a member!

so, now i have 2 question.

-did i have to use the beta 2 crank sensor or the Lc1 one?

***if i use beta 2 sensor, my wiring arness from lc1 have only two wire, but sensor have 3 pin??? wtf???

***if the car can start anyway with the wrong crank sensor???

-my actual situation is that i have 12v on the orange wire(both)that connect right on the coil pack but i have no fire at all!! :banghead2:

What ECM are you using?

What wires did you flip, ill double check your work using schematics.

The crank sensor answers you seek comes down to what ecm you are using.

i'm using the crank sensor and the ecu of lc1

i try all posibility for the wire at the coil, but never make fire

The Crank should be fine if your using the alpha ecm as long as it's physically the same as the beta crank sensor. Is this the 1.6L DOHC ecm and harness that your using? The Idle Speed Actuator sensor plug needs to have 2 wires swapped around. It will be pin 1 and pin 3, they are the open and close signals to the ecm and the alpha and beta are backwards of eachother. Pin 2 is a 12v power for both so leave it be. This will also cause the car not to start. As far as the coils go I went out and snapped a pic of my coil plugs for you then with the magic of windows paint I made this.

Your hots should be orange.

Another quick question, what was your accent originally, map or maf based? Also the beta as well, map or maf?

Minigodz 04-01-2012 09:22 AM

ok i dont swap anything on the idle speed, so i just change the wire number 1 for the number 3 and the 3 for the 1

for the connection on coil is ok

and i have accent 2001 1.6 map and a beta2 map from elantra 2002

Minigodz 04-13-2012 12:47 PM

ok the coil connection is like you said

i change the wiring for the idle speed

and i dont have fire yet

i dont understand why, my ecu is dead??

HotBlue02 04-14-2012 12:37 PM

I doubt the ecu is dead, if it worked before you did the swap. Are you getting Fuel? Are you getting spark at all? I dont think it is related to the crank sensor, i just reread through an old beta swap guide using the same method as you and he used the 1.6L crank sensor.
